Lucky roll on game-winning three gives Cal State Fullerton a win

Before digging into an enticing slate of New Year's Eve college hoops matchups, there's a game-winning shot from one of Thursday's below-the-radar games that's worth a second glance.

Check out the friendly bounce Cal State Fullerton guard Devon Peltier gets on this go-ahead three-pointer with four-tenths of a second remaining to seal a 54-51 upset victory over Pacific. To even his surprise, it caroms high off the iron, then off the glass and in, giving Fullerton just its seventh victory over Pacific in their last 31 meetings.

It looked as though Fullerton wouldn't need any heroics to snap a four-game losing streak against the Tigers when the Titans built a seemingly insurmountable 19-point second-half lead.

Then the Titans went ice-cold. They failed to score for over five minutes and allowed a 12-0 Pacific run to tie the game before Peltier bailed his team out, proving once again that it's often better to be lucky than good.
