Breuning signed; UW picks captains and summer updates

Just got off the phone with coach Lorenzo Romar who said Washington signed German forward Martin Breunig on Monday.

I'll post more later, but Romar expects Breunig will compete for playing time next season. He said the 6-foot-8 forward, who played at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield, Wis., last season is adept on the wing, but has enough size to play in the post.

Breunig will wear No. 11. He returned to Germany on Thursday, but is expected to return next month and will participate in UW's bridge program for incoming players.

Washington has one scholarship left and Romar said the team could add a player before school begins.

Romar also announced next season's captains.
