As college students across the nation celebrated the news that the United States had at last killed Osama bin Laden on Sunday night, Kansas State senior guard Jacob Pullen did not join in the vengeful glee.
Instead, Pullen took a far more subdued stance toward the news. He agreed that bin Laden deserved to die for his role in planning the 9/11 attacks, but he admitted he wasn't all that happy about the news because he's a frequent air traveler and he fears retribution.
While Pullen's tweets were a bit tone-deaf and selfish mere hours after President Obama announced that bin Laden was dead, he certainly wasn't alone in his feelings. Many people were probably uncomfortable at some of the giddy celebration that took place nationwide or uneasy about hopping on a cross-country flight Monday morning.
Nonetheless, Pullen took plenty of criticism on Twitter for his stance, though it wasn't enough for him to change his tone.
"If u don't agree wit me fine unfollow me," he wrote a few minutes later. "I won't [lose] any sleep lol but know that one death leads to another. And I don't feel bad for his family I can care less I'm scared for my family who travel alot cause I'm sure they are planning payback."
